Plans are coming together!

Well, we leave in about a month, and we are very busy getting everything prepared.  God has put together an amazing team.  Our therapy team now includes Cheri Wieland, PT, Jan Cookson, PT, Kim McVean, OT, and Melynda Adragna, OT.  Two team members will be doing "media" work, Jim House and Ann Delagnes.  They will be recording the trainings we will be doing, and some other work for schools and hospitals in the area.  We are excited to work with about 20 children with physical disabilities, and to teach their teachers and their parents how to work with them, help them progress as able, and to be as successful as possible.  We will also be sharing God's love and acceptance with these special families, since those with disabilities and their families are often seen as cursed by God for things they or their family have done.  

The scope of our trip has expanded, and we are now putting on a country-wide training for therapists and rehab techs at a hospital (Cure International) in Blantyre where we will be staying.  We will be teaching stroke rehabilitation and management of shoulder problems, which Jan Cookson has been instrumental in putting together.  God was obviously in control, since both Kim and Melynda have worked extensively with stroke patients as well.  It has been amazing to see how we can be of service to those in Malawi in so many ways, and how God has provided the team to accomplish those purposes.
